Clockwise Serviced Offices: Transforming a Category-A Listed Whisky Bond

Ross Ellis Stewart played a key role as Project Associate with Morgan McDonnell Architecture in the transformation of a Category-A listed former whisky bond into Clockwise serviced offices for client Castleforge. This innovative project united the building’s previously disparate office spaces under a single cohesive identity, blending heritage with modern functionality.

Uniting Spaces for Modern Office Needs

The building, previously divided among multiple tenancies, was reimagined as a flexible, contemporary workspace aligned with the Clockwise serviced offices brand. Key features of the transformation include:

  • A variety of office suites catering to businesses of different sizes.

  • Shared amenities such as a central reception and lounge, meeting rooms, and dedicated desk areas for members.

  • A unique on-site bar and microbrewery, activating the space for both day and nighttime use.

  • Comprehensive signage and wayfinding redesign to unify and enhance the user experience.

  • Heritage-Inspired Design with Modern Appeal.

Drawing on the building’s history as a whisky bond, Ross developed a layout and aesthetic that celebrated its industrial past while creating a dynamic, 21st-century workspace. His contributions included:

Crafting a cohesive brand identity that blends heritage with innovation.

  • Overseeing the design development and on-site delivery to ensure a seamless realization of the project vision.

  • A Landmark Workspace for Flexibility and Community

The Clockwise serviced offices not only brought this historic building into the modern era but also established a vibrant environment that fosters collaboration, flexibility, and community.
